Drunkenness-The Key to the Evil Door

As a kid, I tried to escape the sight of them, as a teenager I hated them and as an adult now, I wonder why they have gone overboard and in return harm others physically, mentally and emotionally.Swaying strangers always give me a sense of fear still and a hell lot of mixed emotions - of pity, of anger, of broken dreams and shattered evenings while it also makes me want to laugh at the their odd behaviour when drunk.

So this is a world where human race have gone way beyond their limits. Be it anything, we tend to make it all overflow. Earn money and we only want more of it, make business and we want it should profit us more and more, do things and we overdo them...there are just too little things that are going stable in our lives. But leave them aside as they are almost harmless.

Talk about the devil again! What good does alcohol bring? Spare those who drink and do not disturb the peacefulness of their homes, and even better those who drink according to their capacity. Not that I encourage them either but well, if one cannot do without it, I guess it is perfectly alright as long as they take it for whatever reason, good or satisfaction it brings them and do not in any way make the lives or moments of those around them miserable.

And the worst kind exists when the devil in us comes out, out of the limitless intake of alcohol. Banging of things, fights, stinging words, call it a small war (a war for a worthless cause) and to the undeserving victims, the worst nightmare. One may be the perfect gentleman when sober, the coolest of them all and the most reasonable, yet when alcohol fills him to the brim, the devil begins to play the ugliest games that could sometimes have no repair. Some Ive noticed, when drunk becomes the master of all things, the Mr Know all, while some are cowards that they could only speak out their heart, their disappointments, their opinions, only with the help of alcohol. The things that the particular person says may have values but drunkenness spoils it all because he says it without exacting respect for his words in a decent manner. And then, the harmless talks also have harmful results in the presence of those violent drunkards because they try to make the smallest of issues, and even those that do not exist, to big ones.

Families, Ive witnessed have drifted apart only as a result of drunkenness, which brings up unreasonable arguments, fights and hopeless challenges. There are those still sticking to each other despite of drunkenness but the emotional bondage goes beyond repair and the closeness that once people share becomes a big hollow. Evenings when children wish to rather spend it more pleasantly, becomes a platform of ceaseless fights and lectures (mind you, lectures full of nonsense).

In an environment as such, how do we expect children to learn and grow? And I wouldn't be fair if only daddies become the victims of my writing because the youth have equal responsibility concerning this. Reckless driving and accidents, violent fights in the streetsLife has so much more to it than getting drunk.

Drink if you must, but stay sober. In that we would have a society with lesser fights and misunderstandings, lesser accidents and separations. And to those who are always sober, you are certainly doing a great job out of it.
